Discreet Storefront Protection for a global technology brand
The Challenge
As part of a wider proactive storefront protection initiative, the client sought a solution capable of meeting impact-resistance requirements without compromising the architectural language of the retail environment.
The project required extensive coordination across multiple stakeholder groups, including the client’s internal design team, component manufacturers, landlord representatives, the main contractor, and specialist installation partners. Every visible element of the scheme was subject to close design scrutiny to ensure alignment with the client’s landscape and storefront standards.
A key requirement was that the protective infrastructure should remain visually unobtrusive within a carefully curated customer environment. By concealing the protective infrastructure within bespoke GFRC landscape elements, the project preserved the clean visual language of the storefront while still achieving the required performance outcome.
The Unfaor LUXE Response
The Core
Unafor delivered the impact-rated Unafor Core solution engineered specifically for integration within custom GFRC planters and bollard covers. The system provided the required storefront protection performance while remaining concealed within the broader architectural and landscape strategy.
Working alongside the client’s design leadership and project stakeholders, the solution was adapted to align precisely with the approved material palette, spatial constraints, and visual design intent. The protective elements became part of the wider retail landscape rather than appearing as standalone security infrastructure.
Delivery
Successful delivery relied on detailed coordination between all project participants, including:
- Client design leadership
- Multiple specialist component manufacturers
- Landlord representatives
- Main contractor
- Specialty contractor teams
The collaborative process ensured that technical requirements, installation sequencing, and visual integration remained aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
This project demonstrated the importance of early and continuous collaboration in managed retail environments where storefront appearance, customer experience, and operational considerations must work together seamlessly.
The client maintained close involvement in every stage of the visual design and landscaping process, allowing the final installation to reflect both the protective objectives and the architectural standards expected across the wider retail portfolio.
The Result
- Impact-rated storefront protection delivered within an operational managed retail space and to a highly design-sensitive standard
- Protective infrastructure fully integrated into bespoke landscape elements
- Strong coordination achieved across client, landlord, contractor, and manufacturing stakeholders
- Finished solution aligned with strict storefront and landscape design standards
